Why we built this
A short letter from the people behind LocalNetwork.
If you're reading this, you probably attended one of our events. Or you read an episode recap. Or someone forwarded you a link.
We started LocalNetwork because we got tired of waiting for someone else to.
There are versions of this community in every other major tech ecosystem. South Park Commons in San Francisco. Newcomer dinners in New York. The TLDR network in Berlin. India had pieces of it - Devfolio, Antler, the Indian Hackers - but nobody had stitched it together.
So we did. Slowly. With our own money. Without sponsors, without an agency, without a press strategy.
What we have now is small. A few hundred people across six cities. A handful of recurring events. An archive that's growing. A waiting list we keep apologising about.
If you want to be part of it, the door's open. If you want to start a chapter in your city, write to us. If you just want to lurk and read essays - that's fine too. The network gets stronger every time someone shows up.
